LIWA Conference 2011

The Leisure Institute of Western Australia (LIWA) conference was an event held at The Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle, WA in August. It was great to catch up with our clients and demonstrate the abilities of the software, RFID capabilities and kiosk.link. kiosk.link created a lot of interest and buzz throughout our stand, and overall it was a very successful and busy day.

Michaela, our Business Operations Manager, did a talk at the conference about social media and how it can help your business.

Facility of the Month - September

SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre

South Australia Aquatic & Leisure Centre opened earlier this year, to the delight of many locals in SA. The facility is already showing signs of being a leading aquatic and leisure facility on Australia, boasting the largest indoor water-space of the country and playing host to many of the world's most prestigious events, such as the World Life Saving Championships and the 2012 London Olympic Selection Trials.

The YMCA-managed facility features multiple diving platforms and several different pools catering for all types of customers, from professionals to amateurs to toddlers - it even has two massive waterslides, including one with a space bowl, which promises lots of fun for the kids in those hot summer months.

Apart from the huge wet areas, SAALC also contains a state-of-the-art health club, with a whopping 708 square meters of cardio and resistance training space! Put together with the high-tech flooring installed to give you more energy, the health club is without doubt ahead of its time.

SAALC have taken full advantage of the Links Modular Solutions application suite, including a compete access control setup and group fitness kiosks, allowing them to integrate all sections of the centre into one complete solution.

Facility of the Month

If you're looking for a fresh, innovative leisure facility in Newcastle, look no further than Balance Health Club. With four convenient locations, it is hard to pass by the opportunity to become part of the fun, energetic atmosphere.

Balance City offers a state-of-the-art gym at an affordable price, offering multi-location memberships. The facility provides revolutionary gym equipment from Hammer Smith and was also the first facility in Australia to introduce the Lance Armstrong bike, the Livestrong.

Balance Health Clubs have embraced the Links Kiosk which they use for self-service group fitness bookings; ultimately decreasing the queues at reception, allowing staff more time to spend with prospects.

They have also taken on an Access Control system, allowing the members to use their membership cards or wristbands to enter the facility without having to go to reception. Members' RFID cards or bands can secure them lockers and also permit them to certain areas of the facility, such as Balance Health Club's "Ladies Only" areas.

The four centres combined run over 350 exercise classes a week. Partnered with their friendly service and affordable membership prices, it is clear to see why Balance Health Clubs have been quite the success; being awarded the AUSTSWIM NSW Swim School of the Year in 2010.

New Innovations in 2011

Following the successful introduction of kiosk.link, the team at Links Modular Solutions are proud to announce the launch of kiosk2.link! This new kiosk caters for customers to engage in self service casual entries, membership & visit pass purchases plus an additional range of exciting new customer service features. With all payment methods available the virtual customer service agent has arrived!

e-blast.link is an extremely effective internet-based software program that allows marketing and promotional material to be personalised and delivered to the mobile phones and emails of members, prospects and customers linked to a current database. This software program provides a major advantage by allowing the development of marketing campaigns and promotions to be automated in advance to make it effortless.

Everyone is looking to buy online, so it is no surprise that businesses are looking for sophisticated and secure software to cater for this consumer trend. memweb.link provides club websites with a PCI secure platform to give customers the capability and guarantee to purchase memberships online with confidence while providing real-time integration to the club's Links database.

Links Launches kiosk.link at IHRSA30

IHRSA's 30th anniversary show in San Francisco saw thousands of people attend educational seminars, group workouts, a busy trade show and the fitness industry's best networking events over four days. In addition to cutting edge software, member services and billing solutions, Links launched kiosk.link allowing club members to manage their own accounts, class bookings and purchases whilst saving club owners labour costs, improving access control and increasing non dues revenue.

Featuring a modern and space saving design, the Links Kiosk allows self-service for your customers to complete any number of services that they previously queued at reception for.  Booking and collecting tickets, buying a membership, paying for a casual visit and various other tasks are all available, increasing customer satisfaction by avoiding lines at reception.
